Position Summary
The General Manager / Market Leader is responsible for the overall productivity and profitability of the market they service. This position balances safety, quality, productivity, employee engagement, and market growth to achieve business goals in sales, customer satisfaction, profitability, and expansion of service lines.
In this role, you’ll lead, coach, develop, and engage your team to drive sustainable growth while maintaining operational excellence. You’ll also have the opportunity to work outdoors, visit beautiful properties, and apply your expertise to ensure the health and well-being of each client’s landscape.
What a Day is Like
Your management focus will span three key areas: Sales, Operations, and Administration. You’ll develop sales targets, monitor performance, and ensure programs are executed to achieve customer satisfaction and meet or exceed budgets. You’ll oversee daily operations to ensure maximum productivity, safety, and efficiency while managing fleet and branch resources. On the administrative side, you’ll ensure compliance, oversee accurate data entry and reporting, and implement continuous improvement processes to drive better outcomes across the business.
What Kind of Person We’re Looking For
• Degree in Business Management, Arboriculture, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent experience
• Successful track record of selling residential and/or commercial services through a branch-based business
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, and retaining team members across sales, office, and field operations
• Previous P&L and operations management experience
• Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform business decisions
• ISA Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Management experience in the tree care industry preferred
• Proven ability to manage logistics and day-to-day operations in a service-based business
• Knowledge of General Tree Care, Plant Health Care, or Lawn Care preferred
