Purpose of the Role:

The Décor Specialist provides high quality Christmas light installation on client homes and

property. Duties include ensuring proper light count and color are brought to the job per arborist

specifications. Following the map provided to ensure the correct power source is used and lights

are installed on the proper target. Using ladders or painters’ poles to install lights in elevated

areas.

Learn to properly operate an aerial lift to install lights.

This role is generally in a 2-3 person team.

There are some projects that require the Décor specialists to work overnights for a short period of time.

  • Essential Functions of the Role:

    · Communicate basic knowledge of common tree identification.

    · Demonstrate knowledge regarding the safe operation of General Tree Care Equipment including

    chainsaws, chippers, sprayers and trucks.

    · Perform activities following all basic safety regulations and standard work procedures with proper

    lifting techniques for heavy items.

    · Work with field crews to exchange information and contribute to a positive teamwork

    environment.

    · Maintain General Tree Care equipment following specified instructions to ensure tools are

    continuously in working order.

    · Utilize basic knot tying skills.

    · Complete pruning activities through proper use of cutting tools, as needed.

    · Transport brush at job site and stack it properly on a client’s landscape.

    · Complete proper clean-up standards removing hangers and spotless clean-up.

    · Work efficiently and productively on a daily basis meeting established key performance indicators

    (KPIs).

    · Follow safety protocols for reporting any accidents and follow up accordingly for root cause

    analysis and shared learning opportunities.

    · Contribute to continuous improvement culture as defined by Lean Sigma policies and procedures.

    · Keep informed of new practices in the tree care industry.

    · Complete work exhibiting ability to raise a ladder, throw a rope, and safe techniques to climb into

    a tree.

    · Set up safely with proper placement of lowering lines in a strong enough crotch, know when to

    attach a tag line, and engage proper lowering techniques.

    · Know when to double crotch and use other appropriate techniques when working in trees.

    · Able to drop trees, know when to use ropes for take down and identify potential need to use

    spikes.

    · Perform aerial rescue if needed.

    Decision Making Authority:

    · Advances with on-going training and demonstration of knowledge and ability to identify hazards

    and plan for completion of each job with contingency options outlined in advance.
