Job Title: Director of Total Rewards & Payroll
Reports to: Chief People Officer
Location: Remote
Salary: $160,000-$180,000
Incentives: Annual Bonus + Equity

Job Summary:
SavATree is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Total Rewards & Payroll to lead and enhance our payroll, benefits, compensation, and HRIS functions. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing total rewards strategies that attract, retain, and motivate top talent while ensuring compliance and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) and possess a strong background in benefits administration, payroll management, compensation design, and HR systems. Proficiency in Excel is a must.

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards Strategy Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive total rewards strategies, including benefits, compensation, and recognition programs that align with SavATree’s goals and values.
  • Evaluate existing programs and recommend improvements to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Ensure total rewards programs are competitive and cost-effective.

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee the payroll process to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations.
  • Manage multi-state payroll, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Partner with finance and HR teams to drive process improvements and address discrepancies.

Benefits Administration:

  • Lead benefits strategy, including oversight of referenced-based pricing and fully insured models.
  • Negotiate with benefits vendors to secure the best pricing, coverage, and service levels, ensuring cost efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Analyze vendor proposals, recommend plan changes, and manage relationships with insurance carriers and brokers.
  • Ensure benefits programs are effectively communicated and administered.
  • Manage leave administration, including FMLA, disability, and other employee support programs.

Compensation:

  • Develop and manage compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Oversee annual compensation reviews, promotions, and equity adjustments.
  • Ensure pay transparency and equity in compensation practices.

HRIS Administration:

  • Manage and optimize HR systems, with a focus on UKG, to enhance reporting, analytics, and overall HR functionality.
  • Ensure data integrity and accurate system configuration.
  • Lead HRIS-related projects, upgrades, and system improvements.

Team Member Support & Compliance:

  • Oversee team member support programs, including leave administration, disability, and other compliance-related programs.
  • Collaborate with HR partners and leadership to provide guidance on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent treatment.
  • Develop training materials and resources to support employee understanding of total rewards programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, payroll, and HRIS administration.
  • Proven experience with UKG is required.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits (including reference-based pricing models), compensation structures, and payroll processes.
  • Experience negotiating with benefits vendors and managing vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Must be an Excel master with advanced skills in data analysis and reporting.
