Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end closings, and supporting the overall accounting operations to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations; record daily cash activity
  • Prepare sales tax filings for several state and local jurisdictions
  • Maintain detailed inventory schedules
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and reports
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Contribute to the improvement of financial procedures and processes
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience; internship or public accounting experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA candidate or certification a plus
  • Knowledge of ERP systems

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office hours, Monday through Friday
  • Occasional overtime during closing periods or audits
  • Hybrid/remote options available (if applicable)
